A stunning, oversized vintage blue and white porcelain charger platter measuring 40 cm (approx. 15.7 inches) in diameter. Produced in Japan during the mid-20th century by the "SM" export pottery kilns, this piece features a highly detailed, classic transferware design.
The center depicts a beautiful, romanticized European pastoral landscape with a riverside cottage, a watermill, and tall trees. The deep border frames the scene beautifully with an embossed, scalloped edge and a rich garland of mixed fruits, including grapes and strawberries.
The reverse features the crisp blue stamp reading "SM MADE IN JAPAN". This massive platter is an incredible decorative statement piece for a wall gallery display, a hutch centerpiece, or a cottagecore/farmhouse kitchen display.
